Tastings and Consultations

Wedding cake consultations require appointments, occur on the premises and will last about an hour. Cake samples need to be ordered at least a week in advance, as they are made to order based on your choices. We will provide five cake samples at no charge along with a variety of butter creams and fillings.

I strongly encourage you to bring pictures, invitations, ribbons and other examples of your event’s theme to inspire your cake’s design process. Paint chips are also a fantastic way to show your color theme.

When considering the design of your own cake, here are a few questions that can help match your cake to the occasion:
  • What is your budget?
  • What season will the wedding take place?
  • How formal will the occasion be?
  • What does your gown look like or the reception space?


    • Other points to consider to determine what cake will suit you are:
  • How many guests will be attending?
  • Will you be needing extra servings for those who RSVP at the last minute?
  • Do you want each tier, if there are tiers, to have the same flavor or different flavors?
  • Do you have the contact information for the wedding planner or reception manager?
  • Will the reception be indoors or outdoors?
  • What shape will the cake be?
  • Will there be flowers on the cake?
  • Will it be a cake at all - perhaps you prefer cupcakes?
  • Do you have a date set, and how firm is that date?


    • In order to hold your date a non-refundable deposit of $100 must be made at time of order. For those who have not left a deposit, we will hold on to the paperwork from your consultation for 3 weeks after the day of the consultation. If no deposit is made within this 3-week period, we will assume you will not be ordering a cake and the paperwork will be removed from our files.

    Orders under 80 servings will incur a $25 Tasting Fee.
